The professionalism and operational ethic I developed with CSWAFC allowed me to transition effectively into my current airline

China Southern West Australian Flying College provided a safe and resourceful environment for me to deliver my lessons easily and effectively. Maintenance on aircraft was carried out thoroughly to ensure us instructors and students operate on aircraft which were on par with the airlines in terms of safety. There was a high level of respect from the students and their hard working nature made them a pleasure to teach. The professionalism and operational ethic I developed with CSWAFC allowed me to transition effectively into my current airline and I highly recommend CSWAFC to instructors of all levels wishing to further their experience and skillset in instructing.

Whether you are a future cadet or potential flight instructor, there are few greater starts to your career
Approved Testing Officer 2011-2016

Jay Bowerman

I have fond memories of my time at China Southern West Australian Flying College. Not only is it a premier training organisation with an impressive safety record but has some of the best maintained aeroplanes in Australia. For the professional Flight Instructor it is also an amazing platform to fast track your career: from the circuit area to the flight levels. As a pleasant by-product of my employment at the college I have developed a keen interest in Chinese culture and made life long friends with both peers and students alike.

Whether you are a future cadet or potential flight instructor, there are few greater starts to your career.

I have since worked with Jetstar in New Zealand and am now a first officer with Virgin Australia
Flight Instructor 2011 - 2016

Loic Cangy

I had the amazing privilege of working with CSWAFC for almost 6 years. I started as a Junior Grade 3 instructor in the ground school department teaching subjects ranging from BAK to CPL.

After being checked onto the flight line as a single engine instructor I was given the opportunity to further my experience and after a few years of hard work and dedication became a multi engine IFR check and training instructor.

Thanks to the fantastic team at CSWAFC I was able to pursue and achieve my dreams of becoming an airline pilot. I have since worked with Jetstar in New Zealand and am now a first officer with Virgin Australia.

The company was always very supportive - constantly training and upgrading instructors
Flight Instructor and Safety Officer 2015-2017

Kieran Hanna

China Southern was my first full time instructing job. The lifestyle in merredin was great – we lived, worked and socialised together and had a great time doing lots of flying. The company was always very supportive – constantly training and upgrading instructors. The company was also very flexible with workload for those instructors who wanted to work more in safety, standards or ground school positions.

The experience I gained there has allowed me to progress to flying a jet in a multi crew environment
Multi-Engine Training Manager 2014-2016

Michael Ellen

I worked at CSWAFC for approximately 3 years from 2014. The experience I gained there has allowed me to progress to flying a jet in a multi crew environment. I would recommend CSWAFC as an ideal flying school for any instructor wishing to gain valuable industry experience to either progress to the airlines or as a career instructor.

CSWAFC facilitated my progression all the way through to working as a Grade 1 Multi-Engine IFR Flight Instructor

Thomas Von Plomgren

CSWAFC facilitated my progression all the way through to working as a Grade 1 Multi-Engine IFR Flight Instructor. The company’s rigid Standard Operating Procedure culture provided me with a great platform on which to progress my career. Working in this type of environment greatly develops a pilot’s capacity to adapt to the SOP intensive world of airline flying, and will stand any pilot in good stead for a future airline career path.
