Having bases in both Merredin and Jandakot, WA, provides the opportunity for the safest initial flying environment, while still allowing cadets to fly into an international airport. The Jandakot facility has been designed for every aspect of flight training, and includes an engineering department, maintenance hangars, a computer based training facility, and access to all types of airspace and instrument approach systems. Merredin was chosen because of the flat, open country, and a low rural population where cadets can learn the fundamentals of navigation.
